RE: EasySync Pro V4.21 with Tungsten T3 Palm ~Sarah Minvelumanoopsi 30.Oct.03 05:03 PM a Web browser Notes Client 6.0.2Windows XP
We have seen similar issue with our users and the "Unable to connect to device problem".
Some tips...
First check Device Manager hardware profiles on the PC to see if the Device is listed under the USB area.
Check the Power Management settings tab of the USB Root Hub port that the device is attached to. Uncheck the "turn off to save power option" so that the port should always be active.
Back up the Palm directory, just in case.
Then perform these steps to clean up the PC
Uninstall EasySync (REBOOT)& then uninstall Palm Desktop (REBOOT) and then check the OS for any residual Palm, EasySync or XCPCSync folders in their usual locations, that may still out there. Remove them.
Check the registry HKEY Local Machine Software and remove any left over entries related to Palm
or Extended Systems. (REBOOT)
Verify with the user that they won't be loosing much, & hard reset the Handheld.
Verify that the user has Admin rights to the PC so that the software will be installed properly with the right permissions.
Install Palm Desktop, if you get a "overwrite existing conduits" prompt select Yes.
Install EasySync.
Hopefully you should then be able to sync to the device with Lotus Notes.
